Description
I must applaud Gulf News for what is in my opinion the best online news portal in the region – gulfnews.com. With that out of the way, I have a complaint to make: I am often perplexed with their decision to not allow site visitors to comment on stories that have the potential to attract the most feedback. I often look forward to feedback from the community in general on articles published on the website but more often than not find the dreaded “Closed for comments” almost every single day.
So why is it that Gulf News disables this feature for some articles and allows for others? What are the criteria? Who decides this?
Here are a couple of examples of articles that can easily attract community participation:
1. Interview with Vinay Katiyar on the Babri Masjid case. Here I wanted to post a comment: Wake up Vinay, Samarkand is not in Afghanistan but Uzbekistan!

2. Pakistan to chair IAEA. My comment here – I hope the world doesn’t see another conspiracy now…

All the best with getting this across to Gulf News!! Keep up the good work uaeconsumer!!
