Home Centre – broken coffee table issue


We purchased a coffee table from Home Centre show room located in the Oasis Center on 4/7/2010 – invoice no1304651.

On the 14th of the same month, one of the coffee table leg broke. We noticed that the legs are not made of wood but a look-like wood material that is fiber glass molded.

We called up Home Centre many time since that day on toll free number 800694663 but to no avail. We left voice messages but never received a call back. We sent an email requested to replace the leg and got a response stating that they cannot replace it because it was mis-handled and blaming us for it.

Coffee table legs are not wood look-like but wood and if made by fiber glass, even a small jerk can damage the table leg which would not happen if the leg was wooden.

We request kindly look in to this matter and do the needful for the same as soon as possible.

  4. Home center don’t have any customer care. They only try to avoid the issue by delaying.
    I had an issue with my sofa and they keep saying that we will give you a voucher for replacement.
    They do sale where they push bad quality products at low price and later you have no other option but to buy at higher prices later on.
    They are not a trust worthy company. Customer care does not care. They will spend more money in big ads than to replace faulty products.
    Never buy, very unreliable company.

    Hi Biju,

    You will never get any proper response from Homecenter.
    We bought a sofa on sale and in less than a month back it started peeling.
    It took me nearly 2 months of repeated follow ups and mails to get a response.
    Now they are providing a voucher equivalent to the product that I bought on sale.
    Now I have no other option than to buy another sofa from their shop at a higher price, because I got it at a significant discount.
    Beware, they push poor quality items in sale to entice customers. They hit their sales target, move substandard products and then force u to buy some product at a higher price.
